1. Starting a Screen Recording

Make sure the Velo Companion extension is installed before recording. Then:
  • Go to app.usevelo.ai/make-a-velo.
  • Click the Capture screen recording card (marked as Recommended).
  • A recording modal will appear with an auto-generated project name and a REC indicator showing Recording in progress.

2. Naming Your Project

Before or during the recording, you can rename the project:
  • Click the Name the Project field in the recording modal.
  • Type a descriptive name for your Velo (e.g., “Onboarding Walkthrough” or “Q3 Feature Walkthrough”).
  • The name will be used as the title for your Velo once it is generated.

3. Recording Your Velo

Once the recording is live, walk through your product naturally:
  • Navigate to the screens and features you want to show.
  • Speak clearly into your microphone as you walk through the product
    • your narration will be used to generate the AI script.
  • There is no time limit, but keep your walkthrough focused and concise for the best results.

4. Stopping the Recording

When you have covered everything you want to show:
  • Click Stop Recording in the modal.
  • Velo will process your recording and take you to the VeloTwin Setup page.

5. After Stopping - VeloTwin Setup

After the recording stops, you land on the VeloTwin Setup page:
  • The recording duration and its cost in Velo Minutes are shown at the top.
  • Select a VeloTwin to present your Velo.
  • Click Go, Make my Velo to begin generation.
From here, Velo handles everything - AI script writing, agent recording, and video rendering - automatically. Description
