Requirements

Before you start, make sure you have:
  • A Velo account - sign in at app.usevelo.ai
  • The Velo Chrome Extension - required for the narration session. See Chrome Extension Installation if you haven’t installed it yet.
  • A URL ready - the page you want to showcase. It must be publicly accessible without a login.
This method is currently in Beta. Some features may change as we improve the experience.

Choosing a good URL

The agent will navigate to and record from the URL you provide. For the best results:
  • Use a URL that doesn’t require authentication - the agent can’t log in on your behalf
  • Use a stable, consistently loading page - avoid pages with heavy pop-ups, onboarding flows, or session-dependent content
  • Use your product’s most representative page - a dashboard, feature page, or landing page where the core value is visible
  • Avoid pages with aggressive bot protection (like Cloudflare challenges) as these may prevent the agent from loading the page
If your product requires login, consider using a staging environment with public access, or use the Capture Screen Recording method instead so you can record through your own authenticated session.

Before you narrate

During the narration session, a new tab will open with your URL and your microphone will be live. Before you start, think through:
  • What areas of the page you want to highlight
  • What you want to skip or not draw attention to
  • Which elements are worth zooming into
  • What context you want to explain in your voiceover
Having a rough mental script beforehand leads to a cleaner transcript and a better AI-generated script.

Starting from the dashboard

From your Velo dashboard, click Generate a Velo. On the creation method screen, click the Paste a Link card to begin. A modal will appear asking you to name your project and enter your URL.
