After entering your project name and URL and clicking Continue, Velo shows the Assisted Recording modal. This explains what you’re about to do - a quick narration pass where you walk through the live page while talking through it with your microphone on.

The Assisted Recording modal

The modal shows your URL in a badge at the top, confirming which page the session will open. It outlines three steps:
  1. Allow your microphone - grant mic access when your browser prompts you
  2. Walk through your product and talk - navigate the live page and narrate as you go
  3. Hit finish - Velo takes over - when you’re done, return to the Velo tab and click Finished Recording
The modal also shows four hint cards to guide your narration:
  • What to click and show - navigate to the parts of the product that matter most
  • What to skip - avoid areas that aren’t relevant to the demo
  • What to zoom into - note any UI details worth highlighting closely
  • What to explain in voiceover - think about what context needs verbal explanation
When you’re ready, click Continue to start the session.

The live session

Clicking Continue opens your URL in a new browser tab and starts recording your microphone. The main Velo tab shows:
“Session is live. Switch tabs to perform your walkthrough.”
Switch to the newly opened tab and begin walking through your product. Navigate the page naturally - click around, scroll, hover over elements - while narrating what you’re showing. Speak as if you’re explaining the product to a potential customer.
The session records your microphone from the moment you click Continue. Make sure your mic is enabled in your browser before starting.

Finishing the narration

When you’ve covered everything you want in the demo, switch back to the main Velo tab and click Finished Recording. The URL tab will close automatically. Velo processes your audio into a transcript. You’ll see a brief loading state while this completes. Once ready, you’ll be taken to the VeloTwin Setup page.
