Once you click Share in the Chrome screen picker, Velo starts recording immediately. The modal updates to show the recording-in-progress state: a red ● REC indicator, a Recording in progress message, and a Stop Recording button.

While you’re recording

There’s no script to follow - just navigate through your product as you normally would. Velo captures every click, scroll, and screen change. A few things to keep in mind: Go at a natural pace. Don’t rush through screens. Velo uses the timing of your recording to place zooms and transitions, so pausing briefly on important UI elements helps the final video feel intentional. Show the key moments. Think about what your viewer needs to see. Focus on the parts of your product that are most compelling - the “aha” moments. Don’t worry about mistakes. You can trim, cut, and crop in the editor after generation. If you navigate to the wrong place, just back up and carry on - it can be cleaned up later. Avoid sensitive information. If your product contains private data, navigate away from it before recording or use a demo account.

Stopping the recording

When you’ve captured everything you need, click Stop Recording in the modal. Velo will immediately begin saving your recording. The modal updates to show a spinner and the message Saving recording… - this usually takes just a few seconds depending on the length of your recording. Once saving is complete, you’ll be taken to the Select Voice page to choose your VeloTwin and generate your demo.
