# Overview

> Turn an existing screen recording into a polished AI-narrated video.

Upload a Recording lets you bring in a video file you've already captured and turn it into a Velo demo. If you've recorded your product with Loom, QuickTime, OBS, or any other tool, you can upload that file directly - no need to re-record anything.

This method is ideal when you already have footage you're happy with and just want Velo to add the AI narration, zooms, background, and presenter overlay.

## When to use it

Upload a Recording is the best choice when:

* You have an **existing screen recording** you want to repurpose as a Velo
* You recorded your product with **another tool** (Loom, QuickTime, OBS, Zoom, etc.)
* You want to create a Velo **without installing the Chrome extension**
* You're working with a recording from a **mobile device or desktop app** that you captured separately

## What you'll need

* A **Velo account**
* A video file in **MP4, MOV, or WEBM** format
* File size under **1 GB**

## The flow

    Give the project a name so you can find it in your dashboard later.

  <Step title="Select your VeloTwin voice">
    Choose the AI presenter voice that will narrate your Velo.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and generate">
    Review the AI-generated script in the editor, make any edits, then generate your Velo.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit and share">
    Fine-tune your Velo in the editor - adjust zooms, add a face, tweak audio - then publish and share.
