# Multilingual output

> Translate a finished video into another language, with translated audio and no re-recording.

Any finished video can be translated into another language. Velo translates the script, generates narration in the new language, and produces a separate video — you do not re-record anything.

## Where to find it

Open the video from **Recent Chats** in the sidebar. **Translate** sits at the top of the preview panel on the right, next to the **Video** and **Docs** tabs.

<Note>
  Translate lives in the chat view for a video, not in the editor. If you are in the editor, select **Home** and reopen the video from **Recent Chats**.

## Translating a video

**Step 1:** Select **Translate**. The **Translate this video** dialog opens.

</Frame>

**Step 2:** Open **Translate to** and choose a language. The list is searchable, so type to filter it.

**Step 3:** Select **Translate**. Velo then asks you to pick a voice for the new language, in the chat on the left.

**Step 4:** Velo generates the translated video and emails your registered address when it is ready. You do not have to stay on the page.

## Supported languages

Arabic · Chinese · Croatian · Czech · Danish · Dutch · Finnish · French · German · Greek · Hindi · Hungarian · Italian · Japanese · Korean · Norwegian · Polish · Portuguese · Romanian · Russian · Slovak · Spanish · Tagalog · Turkish · Ukrainian · Vietnamese

## Choosing a voice

After you pick a language, Velo asks which voice should narrate it. You can use a [public voice](/velotwin/public-avatars) or one of your own [voice clones](/velotwin/voice-clone).

## What carries over

Translation regenerates the narration audio. Everything you set in the editor — background, zooms, masks, cards, and your [VeloTwin](/editing-velo/velotwin) — is preserved. On-screen text inside the original screen recording is part of the recorded footage and is not translated.

## Sharing a translated Velo

A translated Velo behaves like any other: it gets its own share link, can be downloaded, and reports its own [analytics](/creating-a-velo/video-analytics). See [Sharing](/creating-a-velo/sharing).
